A wrong righted...

Cody Alicea says it's exciting Monday morning to be joined by dozens waving American flags at Denair Middle School.

Dozens stood near the Denair Middle School flag Monday morning and recited the National Anthem and Pledge of Allegiance.

Cody Alicea was escorted on his usual ride to school by motorcyclists and patriotic supporters carrying American flags. Once the group reached the school they gathered with other students and parents, and reflected.

One week ago Officials at Denair told Cody he had to remove his American flag that flew on the back of his bike. Cody has a flag to recognize his Grandfather's military service. FOX40 reported his story later last week, and by Friday the story had been picked up by several national news outlets. The school's website crashed from the increase in traffic from people wondering about the story, and their phone lines were swamped with calls from people across the country who were upset that Cody was asked to remove an American Flag.

The school administration says they have a policy not allowing flags on school campus because of recent issues of violence and tension. They admit they went too far in asking Cody to remove his flag, and have apologized to him.
